The bantams at my local orschelns are mass dying. My brother works there and occasionally needs my help identifying illnesses in the chick pens. Recently, the bantams chicks have been dying off very rapidly. They don't know what's going on, but they have ruled out temperature. Any thoughts? I don't have any information other than that, sorry.
Edit: I should clarify since I realized that orschlens are only in the Midwest. They are a farm store like tractor supply

Shortly after shipping? The weather can be a reason; it's not gotten above freezing for the past two weeks, here. Bantams are especially susceptible. How far are they travelling? Do the chicks have pasty bums? Have they tried adding electrolytes and vitamins for a boost for the first three days after the chicks arrive?
They arrived Tuesday, they were picked up by a manager from Estes hatchery and shipped to the neosho Missouri location. They do have an electrolyte solution in their water, but he has mentioned that some of the chicks are aving problem with pasty bum. Thanks!

A drop of straight NutriDrench for every chick every 4-6 hours should help.

I've seen it almost work miracles on some weak chicks I've hatched. The effect is really quick, less than 5 min.
