Bantam Cochin Color?

Not a "what breed" question, but I am having difficulty determining what color my bantam cochin frizzle chick is or is going to be...

any ideas?

Good question. He almost looks like a gold laced, but he's not a gold lace, because he doesn't have black on the head.

Maybe someone else knows, or maybe he'll need to be older with a more developed color before anyone can tell.

I'm thinking he may not be a specific color. Maybe something like a buff Colombian with a lot of smut/leakage? Any idea what color the parents are?

On a side note, can anyone offer opinions on the differences in my two frizzles combs? One has a very obvious tiny little pea comb and the other literally looks like she has no comb at all. Is that normally evidence of a rose comb?

Well it depends on what kind of chicken you're holding, she looks like a Silkie from my point of view. If she is a Silkie, then it is a walnut comb.

With that second bird, I'm also thinking silkie or silkie mix. When you mix silkies with other breeds you get some interesting looking combs.

I've gotten some really weird looking chickens when I've crossed silkies with other breeds. And yes, sometimes they have some very strange combs.
