would any one be interested in cochin eggs to hatch?
they are bantams.. roo is white & hens are 1 blue , 1 red & 3 black frizzle..
they all lay because i get 3 to 5 eggs a day ( i have a game bantam in with them but she lays a white egg so i know what ones are hers & she dont lay every day)
how much would they be worth ? & yes i would ship them for actual cost there.
i just wanna know if it would even worth my time to try??
thanks

The most common way is to bubble wrap each egg separately, and then line the box you plan to use with bubble wrap, and cushion the eggs inside the box with either layers of bubble wrap or shredded newspaper so that the eggs are well cushioned and the extra bubble wrap acts as a shock absorber. You don't want the eggs moving at all during shipping because the fragile air cells inside the eggs can rupture. Once that happens, the eggs are useless. I have better hatching luck when the box is wellmarked than I do when the box is left unmarked. Just make sure that when you pack those eggs into that box, you don't leave any wiggle room, but you need to cushion well between each egg so that they don't crack either. I've received some excellently packaged eggs, and some terribly packaged eggs. It really comes down to the care that is put into packaging the eggs. Good luck with shipping your eggs. What I would do, just to test your shipping skills, is offer 6 or so eggs for free, but ask the tester to cover the cost of shipping. No expense to you, and you get to see if the method of shipping that you chose is actually working. You will know when the tester begins to hatch out your eggs. It takes a little bit, but it's worth it in my opinion to know that you are doing it right.

tester available:
first: How many eggs are you putting in the auction? 6 - 8 10 12 ???

You're running the auction, so how much do you want?

I'm interested just let me know a little more. I don't want to bid one cent, so you need to establish a starting price.

Thanks,

Jimmy

how long can they sit on the counter before i ship em out?..i have 5 , 3 i got today & the other 2 were from lastnight.

Hi
We love our bantam cochins so I'll test for you as well. We have our fun ones with all the colors mixed and then a mottled pen growing up now. They need to be less than a week old when shipped...10 days and under is best when sitting them in the bator and have to give enough shipping time. Its best to ship Mon-Wed and on Sat unless someone is close enough so a Thurs ship will be there on Sat no matter what...or Sat so they come on a Monday.

I'm still willing to be a tester!
