My girl is about a year old and has had no issues to date. She stays in the house most of the time. Outside every now and again on Saturdays while I work. She doesn't have a lot of social interaction with other chickens, only dogs.

For about 3 days she has been very lethargic and slow, she does nothing but sleep. She has been drinking water up until today but not eating in 3 days. She has severe diarrhea (clear,no color). I took her temperature today and it is at 107.5 so she doesn't have a fever. She hasn't laid in about 6 days, but she is an on and off layer anyways, I didn't see that as an issue. Her face and crop are very pale. Her feathers are staying fluffed up and she isn't holding her wings in the usual position so she is definitely week. My husband and I think it's a intestinal obstruction due to not having any sand or rocks to consume to help with digestion. Her body doesn't seem swollen or tender in any specific place. I am so lost!

I don't know what to do. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you ahead of time!!!

I am calling vets to try and get her in this afternoon but I don't know what else to do :-(

:-( My girl ended up dying shortly after I posted this thread. She definitely had some type of digestive blockage. She was not passing food and had a collection of fluid in her crop. I took her out of her cage and put her on my desk and her crop ruptured. The trapped fluid came rushing out through her mouth and nasal cavity. Not sure how I could have done anything different other than provide her with more sand/gravel to consume to help with digestion passing. I hope that this thread at least helps others in figuring out what is wrong with their feathery friends!

Sorry to hear about your loss :( It was probably a gizzard or crop impoundment. I lost a chicken to it too :( The main thing is to not let them eat fiborous foods like long pieces of grass. If it's a crop impoundment you can try massaging the crop and putting olive oil in the water but this doesn't always work. Gizzard imppoundment is pretty much the same situation but your going to need a lot more luck :/ again so sorry to hear about you loss.

PS: yogurt and cooked yolk are good supplement to feed sick birds. Again just writing this for the information if someone else finds this thread and needs the info
