There was one partridge bantam at the feed store when we got Holly, but it was looking like a little roo, so we went for her.

I have 3 bantam Cochins. I got them from a breeder in June 2020. The buff was a year old at $35. The white one was 2 and was free because she is blind in one eye. The mottled was 3 months old and $25. I had a barred but she died in December and a blue that died in April. Anyway yes they are very broody. The buff especially (their original colour when imported from China). The mottled is not allowed anymore chicks because we thought she was doing well with the 2 we got her but they died the day after. The buff was done raising a chick in June but is broody again. They can loose weight and I’ve heard of hens dying when broody so make sure to keep water and food nearby if you can’t give them eggs or chicks to raise within a couple of months. The hen that I read about dying sat for 5 months. It gets really cold here and they did fine. I can’t remember when my mottled hen started laying but none laid in the winter so she was closer to a year old when she started. Good luck

I have 3 pullets and a cockerel and they are so funny and cute. I got all four of them and a Welsummer and they’re an inseparable group of 5 with the Welsummer as their leader The little dude is super sassy but when he makes the bigger pullets (standard chicks) he scurried away to hide behind the Welsummer haha. He and one of the pullets always visit me, and the pullet will stay and just hang out with me. The other two are more skittish and shy, but all of them are sweet and gentle birds. Watching them forage and waddle around in their short little legs with huge feathery feet is adorable

I didnt end up getting them but I might be getting some different ones in October.
