This is my first time hatching out blues/blacks in Bantam Cochins. These little ones are 31 days old now. As they're feathering out so differently, I'm assuming it's a pair? Would the pullet be the darker, more feathered out one? Or do I have it backwards? They are siblings. And is this coloring typical for Blues? Thanx!

They look like Blacks to me, not Blues. I raise both bantam and standard blacks and they look just like my blacks. I'm not sure about a pair.

Well, I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news. I thought they would be 100% blue, as they are Black x Splash, but I know that's not a 100% guarantee. Hmmmm . . . They're F1's in a project, so I guess I'll just let them grow a bit more and see what develops. I really just need the genes they're carrying, and then select for the best typed.

2 cockerals im afraid, and they appear black.
