I have just finished my first coop for my group of 6 bantams

It's made out of a pallet, scrap laminate flooring and some odds and ends. I have some changes I need to make but overall pretty happy with it

Since taking the pics the perches (1.5 in diameter) have been raised and I'm sourcing new branches to clean to take them up to 2-2.5in

The mesh around the run is 1.5in cat netting left over from building a pen for a feral cat - it's strong, bite resistant/tear resistant and buried 6in deep around the pen and roofed the pen with it. We're going to double it up.

Thanks for sharing!!!
I'm looking for ideas for a coop/run/possible tractor for 3 Cochin Bantams.

Chicken math led me to throw together this little coop. I brought two little d'uccles home and couldn't imagine them not getting pecked to death by our three big birds.

The base is 2.5' x 3', and with slanted walls, actually feels much bigger. I think three Bantams could be very comfortable in something like this.

The d'uccles moved in with the big birds after about three weeks and all are finally starting to get along pretty well.

Thank you. Yeah, we're looking for something small and fairly simple that they can free range from, but still has a bit of a run in case we need it.
I like the slanted walls idea. Where did you come up with that?

Another newbe here. I plan to raise bantams also. I had been getting farm fresh eggs from local farmers and thats where I was introduced to the banty variety. Not only did I come to like their eggs better than the larger ones but I also fell in love with the breed. I am in the process of building my coop now. I like your setup. Looks like a good place to start. I say that because, based on all the threads and posts I've read, I'm starting to see how addictive this business of raising chickens is. So, we'll probably be getting more chickens and building bigger coops in the future. Fun stuff!
