Bantam Cornish, anyone?

My birds eat more then my other birds like my old English, bantam brahmas. They eat more while they are growing but once developed they slow down but still eat a decent amount. It is a good idea to put food on one side of the pen and the water on the other so that they can get exercise. If you have the food and water next to eachother ten they will not move anywhere and their legs will stiffen up. The males are especially lazy and will get fat on food.

Hatchery birds would not be as heart shaped and typed as the show birds. They are great for egg laying and eating though. Don't know how much they will eat though. They might have longer legs then show birds also. I did get 3 white laced red coenish from ideal but don't remember how they turned out, I got rid of them to get better birds. They would be good pets though.

I'd love to get that classic cornish type, since I love the way they look. But I would just feel guilty about getting show quality birds when I never plan on showing them...I do just want them for eggs and meat. Maybe I'll try a few hatchery stock first to see how I like them. I do have a young son who will be getting into 4H soon...so maybe he'll like them and want better quality birds at some point.​

I am pickin up a pair of white laced red bantam cornish tomorrow from a guy that lives south of OKC, the wife decided she wants to try some. He shows his and said he placed with some down at the shawnee show in december.

I have a pair of WLR, they are adorable, and my girl lays about 5 eggs a week, I am so used to the cochin eggs, and the cornish are larger. I would like to get some dark bantams..

the wife loves her little pair of white laced red bantam cornish. The quality isnt bad, we have some blue laced red babies ordered from ideal hatchery, she just likes them for pets...
