Hi everyone, I have 4 Bantam duck eggs in an incubator we are on day 21 and eggs are rocking which is worrying me slightly ... everything I've read is saying ducks take 28 days but call ducks could hatch early possibly 26 days .... ours are silver bantam ducks would this be the same as call ducks in the hatching time??
What's worrying me is the air cells are still not big enough to hatch yet one is slightly smaller than it should be , should I be turning the humidity up and going on lockdown already?? I dont want to get this wrong and shrink wrap them if the humidity isn't high enough but I dont want to turn the humidity up if the air cells are still not quite there ?
What should I be doing here please?

I’ve haven’t hatched Bantam ducks yet, but I can tag someone who has. Isaac is very experienced with hatching Bantam breeds so maybe he can help.
@Isaac 0 could you by chance be of assistance here?

Are you sure there actually duck eggs? Chickens eggs would be near hatching just about now. Could you open the incubator quick, and take a candling picture of the egg? What’s your humidity at?

Humidity is around 55% ,I was planning on increasing during lockdown but now unsure when should be ?
The eggs were shipped which I understand is the reason why 2 of the air cells are slightly saddled.
I'm worried about increasing the humidity too early because 1 of the air cells does not seem that big (a little under what it should be at 21 days for a duck egg)
It didnt even cross my mind that they could be anything other than silver bantam ducks because that's what I ordered (very trusting person here) I did however read reviews on the breeder and had no other reason to think otherwise untill now .... all I can say is they look like duck eggs in colour 🙈
I will try to get a picture on here as soon as I can
Thank you so much for replying

Here is one of the eggs .... I think I see a slight pushing of the air cell ?

Air cell has increased dramatically over night on the 2 smaller eggs and increased enough on one of the larger ones and the one I thought was too small has also increased slightly
I'm thinking I should put them in lockdown now?

@Firsttimeduckmumma how are your eggs doing? Did you decide to start lockdown? Sorry I can’t be of more assistance but I hope everything goes well for you. :)
Morning 😁 yes I have locked down at 65%
eggs are still moving although not as much but I've put the lockdown base in the incubator which I think is no so easy to rock about .
I've shone a touch in against the sides and can see the all the air cells are looking great although I cant see much inside without candeling.
I guess it's just a waiting game now .... the 28 days should be saturday but being bantam ducks they might hatch earlier also im wondering if they could have started to develop before being shipped to me?
Fingers crossed all goes well and will keep you posted 🤞🤞🦆🦆 😁

Sounds good. Thanks much. Good luck to the little ones to safely make it here. :) :fl
