You're welcome!

Thank you for the compliments on the cages. Those are a little nicer than most of ours because we built them to keep some of our nicer birds in at our house. This was the first year we have kept large numbers of our birds on wire and I *loved* it. It was so much easier to keep them clean, the eggs were cleaner, and the birds looked great. For the drains in the mortar tubs, we just used basic plastic sink drains. They were very easy to install. We don't even keep a plug in them. The water just fills the tub and the drainage pipe all the way down to the valve. That way we don't have to reach through the dirty water to drain them. We just open the valve, let the water drain out, spray them out, and refill. So easy.

One thing we are doing differently with our next group of cages is to make sure the cages have better drainage around them. We were going to put pea gravel under these and drain them into planter boxes. We just didn't get it done before the breeding season and we are now moving the cages to a different location so it may be a project for late winter.

Mrs. Turbo you have some great call ducks. I know you have to do something around your place to help your husband because for every successfull guy who is a master breeder there is a wife that supports and helps him. I have one who has helped me for 22 years and she is the editor of our newsletter for the Rock Club. If you get a chance post some of your pictures of your great type calls. I have a picture I look at every now in then in my other computer of a pastel call that has the best type I have ever seen on a pastel that was yours. This duck looks alot like a white call in type. By the way we liked your Silver Laced Wyandotte at the Indiana show. I wish I was there to look at her and score her in my head in comparison to the white rock male. I am a rock guy but I still wonder if she scored higher than him. Thanks every buddy for you pictures and also I am going to the hardware store tomorrow to get me some sink drains great method and idea to drain your tubs. Bob

I did help him do a major update of the call breeders website, that took almost a week working day and part of the night. It is a lot of work keeping up with the call breedes website and 2 of our own. Wish we could take on the Wyandotte website too, but just not enough time so if you know anyone that would like to donate some time to the wyandotte website have them contact Dave Lafebre. Maybe i should post that on the other thread too.

you are probably talking about this little pastel hen......we got her from Art, so can't take credit for her.

This was our little buff hen....she is pretty good too. We just sold our entire flock of pastels and buffs so they are no longer ours.

This was one of our pastel drakes....I liked him, nice big head and body, and short little legs.

I don't know why I like this picture, this is a young bird from 2 years ago.
