In response to the angel wing thing, yes, angel wing is a DQ IF you can't disguise it. I had a drake with a mild case of angel wing and he won best of variety.

wow
no wonder no one asked about my birds looking at all the others Ive noticed that my ducks
bills are toooo long and too stocky. are there different standards in england i have to find out.
i don't mind i like my birds but i am a curious person.
from the people that are in the know i need you to criticise my birds big time so
that when i start next year i have a platform to start with.
you will not be hurting my feelings. I am dedicated to make my next ducks more to type.
if you could also show me in pictures so i can see the difference that would be great
thanks

No criticism needed-you're birds are adorable. That little Self-Black hen looks pretty typey to me.
The others are just larger and racier than SQ Calls.
Start with good stock for your breeding program. They'll start coming available when the fall show season starts.
I have several PQ Calls that I LOVE! That little Blue-Bib hen looks just like my Jozey. She's cute as a bug!

Not all strains of white Calls get the black in the bill of the female and the females are still fertile. I have a 15yo female here that has produced 100's of babies and she does not have a single spot on her bill. I have heard the fertility story for years, but it is just not true. If it was true there would be no clear billed females producing babies......that is not the case. Krahe and Osika are two old time breeders that come to mind that had females that never got black in the bill. I don't think anyone really knows why some white female Calls get black in the bill.... In the SOP the deductions for black in the bill are really quite small, but judges very seldom place a white female with black in the bill BB or RB .

I have a super and I mean super little 3yr old white call she has no black on her bill but she has one black spot under her wing, her name is Tissy, she will fit in the palm of your hand, but I got her spring and purchased a little drake from Mrs. Turbo to go with her and hope she gives me some babies, she is so sweet and talkative. I have some other white calls from a totally different line and breeder, and they to have really developed to be really small, I bought them spring as babies and several of them have that one black spot under their wing. Is their a reason why some have that one black spot under their wing and no black in their bills??

And that was pretty much the point.
