Can someone tell me about the Charley Hodum and Grubbs Waterfowl lines of Butterscotch Calls. I just won an auction for some eggs from oldoliver6677 of PERRYSBURG, OH His listing stated:

6(will add additional if available) Fertile Show and Breeding Quality Butterscotch Hatching/incubator Eggs from Charley Hodum and Grubbs Waterfowl stock

Super Quality Butter Eggs available NOW or shipped at the buyer's request.
Each egg will be individually wrapped in bubble and packed well. We ship priority mail on Monday or Tuesday if your outside of the Midwest.

OH, IN, MI ship M-Th..since it's typically a 1 day service.

I cannot guarantee fertility or hatch ability once the eggs have been dropped off at the post office. I can guarantee that the eggs you receive are from the birds picture. Hatching is under your control and there is no compensation for poor hatch rates

We currently have a Dickey Incubator with 98% hatch rating.

I think Charley has some pretty nice Butters. If they are anywhere near the quality of his grays and whites, they should be really nice. I have no idea who Grubbs Waterfowl is/are. I looked at that auction and had to smack my hand to keep from bidding on them.
Congratulations!

Thanks for not bidding on them.

Charlie has had butters for quite some time actually he created one version of the color that was a bit different than what we see today! From what I was told he still breeds from his original strain but only has a couple, like one or two pair! Charlies butters are no where near the quality of his whites or grays; to be honest no ones is quite there... Yet, some breeders are getting close though! As far as GrubbS waterfowl, they no longer raise waterfowl at all! Don't know much but I do know if you want strong colored butters there birds are what you are looking for, as I understand the Grubbs bred for color then type; don't know if that was true or not though. Either way I'm sure you can't go wrong

Bob, guess what?? I bought me some White Calls finally after all this delima, LOL, I got them from Eric Olson, he made great comments about you and your flock also, I bought a pair and one drake to go with 2 Lee Morey hens , he has the Art Lundgen line and he added Hodume line to his lines, he shipped them Monday, so excited awaiting there arrival will post pic.s for everyone when they arrive, we have had winter ice storm first time in 10 yrs, and no power for 3-days, my 3- incubators were off, god only knows what that outcome will be, we have a generator, and Roy my husband worked on it, because it wouldn't crank, and 15 min after he got the dang thing running the power came back on. I lost 5 guineas 8 Australorp biddies, 3 baby ducks, oh my white calls had a secret nest I found full of eggs, well of course with only one drake and 4 hens, I didn't expect to much out of 15 eggs, so candled them 6 were fertile and developing, I was just amazed they laying in the winter though, but now with the ice storm she has come off the nest I seen her out in the yard playing with the others in the mud puddles, a limb fell on the fence and broke it down. My dad was in hospital week of Christmas, so I spent Christmas Eve and Day with him for my sister to play santa clause with her smaller child, and I be darn if I didn't come down with Pneumonia, and on the couch 2-wks on Antiobiotics, lord when it rains it poors, so okay I have caught every one up on me, I hope you ALL had a Merry Christmas and the start of a Happy New Year, hope ALL of you are well, have missed you ALL!!
