Bantam Duck Page

Hey guys, if anyone is interested, I cannot hatch call eggs in my bator, none of my hens are broody, and I am getting a lot of eggs from my butters. Anyone want some? They are up for auction in the BST section. Check out the auction for pics and info. on my ducks.

how long can their molts last before starting to lay again? and do they usually molt in the spring or fall?

I'd say 6-8 weeks. They molt whenever they want to

. Many of mine are molting right now, and I am hearing the same thing from many Call breeders.

often times birds lay a few soft shelled ones first of the year, especially if it's the first eggs she's ever laid. However if it continues, yes you will need to put some calcium in there for her, oyster shell is the most commonly used. However if you are using a good feed, it should have all the calcium in it that they will need, check your bag and look for the calcium levels in the feed, a good layer feed should have plenty, if yours doesnt switch, or add oyster shell

Alright my ducky friends, I posted some BEI eggs in the auction to see how it goes!! We have some due to hatch on the 14th of April, I can't wait, I hope they are as much fun as the call ducklings!
