This happened maybe 15-25 minutes ago. Sorry for any rough formatting.

I have a small rosecomb bantam hen, earlier this weak she seemed to have been choking on a piece of corn, eventually she managed to swallow it and after a couple minutes she seemed fine but I've been doing a couple checks every couple days now to see how she's doing.

Today I was picking her up to check on her and see how she was and she seemed calm. As I held her in my hand she suddenly started struggling to stand and then tried to jump but instead she fell down backwards, flapped her wings to soften the blow and either landed near her cloaca or on her ankle(the thing most people call a backwards knee to be clear).

Immediately after she didn't seem to be able to get up all too easily and was clearly in a bit of shock, I didn't feel her heart rate increase but she was breathing with an open mouth(not heavily) and started making soft squeeky noises(she has a very high pitched voice but this was a little softer). She didn't seem to have any bone fractures or breaks(as far as I could tell) but she was walking very slowly and carefully. I went to check if she felt any pain when I touched her legs carefully and the only thing I could tell was that she slightly closed her eyes a couple times either when touching her lower ankle(part below the backwards knee, again sorry if my terms are a bit weird) or her lower leg.

I gave her a little water and she seemed to want to eat something so I gave her a couple seeds(this might've been dumb of me because it might divert her body functions to her digestion instead of to any injury, unless I'm wrong in which case feel free to correct me) and let her walk on the ground a bit to observe her movement.

She went into the sand and started laying there and resting for a bit but I feel really guilty and worried about her. It almost seems as if she's just trying to ignore any pain she has and I really hope there's nothing wrong and she's just trying to walk it off or whatever (unlikely I know)

Depending on what any comments tell me I'm probably gonna take her to my vet to check it out since she's helped her in the past and I'm hoping she can tell me if there's anything wrong.

For now I'm hoping anyone can tell me anything and I'll be checking up on her frequently to see if anything updates.

I would keep her separated in a dog crate with food and water on comfortable bedding and observe her. Limit her activity. Hopefully, she was just shaken up, but she could have internal injuries or a fracture or sprain. A vet would be best if you think she is injured.
