Bantam frizzled chickens in CO?

Hello’s everyone! Not sure I posted under the right forum but I didn’t know that else to use. So I have ducks, chickens, bantam ducks, bantam chickens and geese and I of course want more. I am thinking I might get some bantam frizzle chickens next year, maybe eight or so. I plan on building them a small coop and run of their own so I can breed and sell them. Only problem is I live in Colorado. It gets pretty cold here and got to -20 last winter with high winds and lots of snow and I know they don’t handle cold well. I thought I could maybe just lock them up in the coop during the winter (with a coop heater) and let them out in the summer. Is this a dumb idea or could it work? Any ideas or info from those of you that own frizzles (or don’t) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I've kept bantam frizzle cochins here in Wisconsin. We get that cold too, and I didn't have any problems keeping them. On real bad days I did leave them in the insulated coop. Now we cover our run in clear roof panels, so no need to close them up like we used to. I've never used a heater and never would because the risk of fire.

Ok that’s great! A roof on the run sounds like a good idea. And I should have clarified, I use this thing called a cozy coop heater. It’s just a small panel that heats up. I don’t think it does much but thought it would work better in a smaller coop. Thanks for the reply!
