We have four 6 week old chicks and one 4 week old. Our Bantam Polish, who is 6 weeks, is being picked on. I believe the aggressor is a Buff Orpington (same age). The back feathers are all but gone. I had separated the Polish from the Orpington while they were in the broder but now that they are outside they are in contact with each other. I've never witnessed an attack but will sometimes see the Buff peck at a chick. No other chick has any feather loss. I'm thinking about buying the hen apron to shield the back. I'm sort of at a loss regarding what I should do. Another question: We have our chicks isolated from our full grown hens...when is a good time to mix them? Thank you.
