I have flock of ten full size chickens and two bantams that pasture all day then get locked in hen house at night. Will the regular chicken grit be ok for the bantams or should I offer them something smaller like chick grit?

Hello! If they free range daily, then you don't need to supply grit at all. :) Now, when winter comes, it's a good idea to supply the grit if everything is snowed over and they can't really scratch the ground, but during the summer, they'll find their own natural grit. Oh, and the regular grit will be fine for the bantams.

Ok thanks for the information. I sure hate the sounds of winter already.lol

Well, it takes true grit to get through a winter… I always offer grit, but in the summer they don't seem to work it much. Having it does no harm and for me is easier to just always have it there.
