Hey folks, just wanted to show off my DH's abilities.
We having adopted Scooter and friend to join our
Penny, we suddenly needed another place for these
little guys to live...especially where Penny is not
going to be tolerating any of it...
This hutch started off as for the meat birds, 4x8
base with one large door to drop down for easy
clean out, a center door to be able to reach in,
filling water and grain without any escapees.
The design was perfect to cut off 1/3 of the door,
replacing it with a large door for clean out, smaller
door for winter use.
Now the 1/3 was built in by using chipboard/plywood
with syrophome as insulation. The windows are double
plexiglass and there are holes above the windows for
ventilation. The lower perch is smaller, the top perch is
a 2x4 wider up for easy perching for the cochin Bantams.

The tote has sand in it for dust baths, scratching and grit.
This is when Scooter and pal moved in,
now Scooter has two new friends...Lucy and Kathleen.
Once winter is over, I'll let you know on the downfalls of this style.
PS- the back side of the play area wire is 2 sheets clear plastic, as soon as snow flies, we will close in the front side.
