Among my 10 chickens, I have a Bantam. He/she was purchased as a "Bantam Straight Run", so I don't know much about him/her.

Can you tell me anything about this 8 week old Bantam?

Thanks,
Shane

Awesome!! I sure appreciate the replies.

Any idea if it's a roo or pullet??

Here's another pic I took yesterday.

Thanks!

The roos tend to have wider, plumper comb, larger legs and feet and the feathers on the head tend to point backwards instead of up and forward...

Here's my roo

Here's the latest pics of my bantam. I guess he (or she) is up a little over 10 weeks now.

That's my 10 week old white plymouth rock sitting next to the bantam.

Thanks for the pics Guitarist. The feathers on the head of mine looks similar to yours but it's still hard to tell.

Well today my little Silkie is 15 weeks old. This morning he started crowing. Urrrr...a... Urrrr. I had to do a double take because I don't have any roosters, LOL. Sure enough, it was the silkie. Here's a recent pic of him. Maybe this post will help someone else in identifying their silkie.

Also, I don't really think this is a bantam. I bought this one as a "Bantam Straight run." Yet he is bigger than the CA whites and is about as big as all the others, except the plymouth rocks.
