howdy folks

i have just added a pair of bantam leghorns to my flock of free rangers. and i am wondering when my hen should be laying. they are last years birds and she was laying the day i picked her up. i think i read here somewhere that she might take a a cpl days to start laying after a move. it ha now been four days and still no eggs. she does free range during the day though. do you think she is laying them out in my corn field? or is she just taking her time to acclimatize?
should i just keep her locked up for a few days to see or give her the right idea about where to lay. i have golf balls in the nesting boxes but they are also all over my field from my last tennant using it as a driving range. i just am hoping that she hasnt found one out in the feild and decided to start laying there.
any ideas would be appreciated
thanks

They can take a lot more than a couple of days to start laying again after a move. But the golf balls all over your place could easily be the problem as well. Locking them up a while might help.

Good morning brother Jessie, I would lock her for few days in the coop till she figer out the whole outfit, where the boxes re and etc.
thanks

Omran
