I'm curious what this light little one is going to grow up looking like. Any ideas? It's a bantam that was hatched from my broody. I got the eggs from a local farm so it's likely some sort of mix. It's my daughter's favorite and we're all eager to see how it looks when grown up.

Its really pretty!

I'm not sure what it will turn out to be. It has the chipmunk (I call it acorn) pattern, which can grow into speckled, brown, partridge, or silver duckwing (in my experience). I'd love to see a picture in a few weeks!

Best of luck.

Thank you for your reply! We're excited to watch it grow up and will definitely update with pictures.

Just realized that pic is a week or so old. Here's one from tonight- the colors in "her" feathers are so pretty

She's gorgeous!

The coloration now looks like partridge, but it may change as she gets older

I think this is my Speckled Sussex girl, Captain

And this is my cross breed chick (I think half Buff Orpington have Easter Egger) named Baby Cakes

Thanks!

The Sussex is around 2 and a half weeks at the time of the photo, having hatched around the 16th of June. The Orpington mix is a month and a half old, having hatched during the middle of May.

Fun! I'll be interested to see pics of them as they get older too. This little one was hatched mid June.
