So I know silkies take forever to Get an idea of hen or rooster. But how long for mixes.

These two cuties came from a bantam flock that's is all mixed together. The rooster were stated to be silkie mixes. The hens were silkies bantam cochin old English game birds and the unidentifiable breeds. They are 1 week old now

We are now 4 weeks old. I'm begging to think both are going to turn out to be roosters.... but given that they are definitely mixes and I'm a beginner I don't know. But their combs are both pink colored already.... Tabitha (or Tommy) is the Cuckoo colored and Peepers is the all grey. Tabitha's wings are about even with her back end. Peepers wings are MUCH longer than the body and her tail feathers are coming in much faster.

Ooooo that will be sad. These are the only 2 we have ever hatched and of course no roosters allowed (don't worry I have a way to rehome them) but better start preparing the 7 and 5 Year old now....

We are now 6 weeks old. Tabitha is the cuckoo colored. The comb and wattles remain about the same size....
Peepers is the all over grey. We are really looking more and more boy. But oh that is the snuggliest chicken ever and fits perfectly in the hand.
