Dewey101 , how come you have a rabbit waterer in the chicken house???? Just curious...

My whole flock is using rabbit waterers in addition to their gallon chicken waterers. The water stays cleaner and they learned quickly how to use them! I just noticed them at WalMart one day and had been thinking it would be nice if there was a HUGE waterer like hamsters use for smaller chicken pens (my chickens turn the water over in the isolation pen), so I decided to experiment, and it's working well so far. It allows me to spread out the water in the run so everybody has a place to drink without as many pecking order disturbances.

It's sort of difficult to attach them to 1/2" hardware cloth, however.

well heres the main reason for the rabbit feeders.
theres less chance of anything harmful or any diseases getting into the water. and the birds actually like them. Pretty easy to water them as well
