So out of my order of 15 SR bantams, I have 4 pullets: a black bantam EE, 2 Mille Fleur D'uccles, and a spangled OEGB. I really want the small eggs for snacking, and I'm guessing the EE's will be more of a medium size. I was going to look for more bantam hens, but I'm thinking about just seeing what I get from these 4 and then possibly raising some more next year.
For cockerels who haven't already done something to guarantee them a trip to freezer camp, I have a Mille Fleur D'uccle and several OEGB - barred, black-tailed buff, blue, black-breasted red, and self blue. Will any of those crossed with the spangled or Mille Fleur hens produce particularly interesting progeny (or anything predictable)? Would crossing one of the smaller boys with the bantam EE give me a shot at somewhat smaller colored eggs? Does anyone need a cockerel???
Thanks!
