Ok. So this is something I've never experienced. And just happened not long ago.
I recently seperated my two roo bantams. They were buddies, and would defend each other from the rir roos that i had them with temporarily. They are also seperated but i have added some bantam hens to the little guys. Anyhow, i have not had issues putting my hands in cage until the hen laid an egg . Now he pecks at me. How uncommon is it for a rooster to be protective over an egg? The other roo bantam doesnt do that (found an egg in that shelter too).
