hi all,
our little australorp bantam who is about 13 weeks old is draging its foot along the ground as it walks. it has been abit sick for the last 3 weeks, first with its wing hanging down and appearing broken, it is very sleepy and not joining in with its friends and now the foot dragging along. it used to be the leader of them all but now is just happy to sleep in your lap. it has a diet of free range garden, layer mash or chick starter mixed with milk. also quite a bit of spinach growing in the vegie patch that they all eat. none of the rest have any problem at all. any help with this mystery would be very welcome. thanks alot..

I am going to say this is mareks disease. All classical symptoms of it too. Just hit my flock a couple of months ago. Quaritine it and cull it. Then sanitize the coop. I had a young bird who had it and i thought it would be ok. Then it spread to other bird in my flock and killed it.

thank you for your reply, i thought it might be and have an appointment at the vet today so hopefully work it out then. thank you
