Bantam Size Chicken Door (Pop Door)

I've searched high and low, and can only find one recommendation. What I found was 12" tall by 10" wide.

Does anyone have any other contributions to this subject? I'm working with a very small coop so want to make it as small as I can get away with.

This is for DD's Bantam Cochins, I really don't know how big/tall/wide they will get!

My Bantam Cochins had no prob going threw a hole I cut using a CD as a template. Ive also seen them go threw a 4 inch by 4 Inch square hole.

WOW! That seems SO SMALL!!!!

My chickens are as tall as my knees so this is a different experience. They are just too darn cute!

I think I would make them 5 by 5 if I didnt have a grown chicken to measure.
My Pugs dog door ant but 8 by 10 an they get threw it fine even when pregnant.

I would go with the recommendation you read. I raise bantam cochins and their chicken doors are 12 inches tall by 10/11 inches wide. Its an ideal size for them. You can see some photos my bantam coop and the chicken doors on my BYC page. Third photo down in particular.
