Hello! My bantam is a little over a year old. Normally she is walking around, talking. The last week, she will just stand frozen in the corner. She is still eating (even more than usual it seems but I am also watching her more than usual), drinking water. She is usually pretty skiddish and submissive, but she has started holding her own when I give the flock blueberries by hand for afternoon snack. But today, when chasing for a blueberry, she fell over. I thought maybe she tripped but then it happened again. She is still walking around, eats meal worms and food, drinking, mingling ewith flock, but then will stand in the corner not moving. I thought maybe brooding but with the falling over I’m super worried? Also this morning she had a little runny white on her butt. Any help please on what it might be? I am so worried for my little girl Gravy.

Welcome To BYC

Can you post photos of your hen and her poop?

Is she molting?

When was her last egg?

You mention she's eating and drinking more than usual?

I'd take her aside, check for lice/mites, inspect the legs for any bruising or injury.

Check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight.
I'd also give her vitamins for a few days to see if that helps. 400UI Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily.

Here are some pictures I hope these are ok. She has not had an egg during this time either, a little over a week. I do not think she is molting. This morning there was a development, her bottom is looking poopy now, I posted a picture. This morning she is still eating, drinking, it does seem like she’s eating more than usual or at least she is holding her own trying to get her fair share when normally she is skiddish and submissive. Her spirit seems good, still talking and things, but then stands in the corner. Thankfully she is not getting picked on, I only have 4 hens. Does her poopy butt suggest anything?

When's the last time you dewormed? If possible take a sample of poop to your vet for a fecal float to see if worms are part of the problem.

If that's not possible, then I'd consider at least deworming her to see if that helps.

You can use Safeguard Liquid Goat dewormer at a dose of 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once daily for 5 days in a row.

OR You can use Valbazen at a dosage rate of 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeat in 10 days.

Clean up her bottom, determine if she's got a pasty yeasty discharge coming from the vent or if that's just stuck on poop.

Are worms something I would see in her poop?

I went to get her to bring her in and get her cleaned up, she ran about two steps and collapsed and just laid there. Cleaned her up, brought her in and when I put her back she had trouble getting her footing

This is closer up after a soak in epsom salt bath
