Hi,
These adorable little babies recently hatched from some gold laced wyandotte bantam eggs I bought.
I'm just wondering about their colours. I would have thought if they were all gold laced they would be the same colour at hatching. Just wondering if anyone thinks I may have some different colour eggs mixed in or even some different breeds? I'm not familiar with wyandottes.
Thank you.

Could just be mixed colour. They have the right combs. I’d repost in a couple of weeks when they have good feathering. You may have been given some of the wrong eggs or another rooster could have gotten into the breeding pen. I’d contact the person you bought the eggs from.

After you check with the breeder, you could check out the pictures of hatchery wyandottes. Ideal and cackle both carry several color varieties.
They are very cute. I hope you enjoy them.

I looked at pictures online and none of them match up. A couple are somewhat similar but much lighter. I think I got ripped off or given the wrong breed. I could understand a couple getting mixed in but not the whole lot. Am going to contact the seller.

Have just heard back from the seller. They came from a mixed gold and silver flock, though she didn't tell me that when I bought them asking for Gold Laced. She said she can refund me. Just hoping they sell ok now and I'll have to start a new search for a gold bantam. Don't know if she was being deliberately sneaky or not by not telling me they were mixed but it's annoying. I could have gotten some extra cuckoo silkie eggs to put under my hen instead because if I knew they were mixed I wouldn't have bought them.
