Bantams and Standard chickens...can they co-exist?

I know many people, myself included that have standards and bantams mixed together with no problem. The problem th OP will have is roosters fighting. I have two bantam Cochins and I can assure you, they are not at the bottom of the pecking order. I do have a lot of room, a 6 by 22 pen plus free ranging a couple of hours a day for 7 chickens. ( one standard Roo, 4 standard hens, and 2 bantams.) But I don't see any problem with mixing standard and bantam hens together.

I have had an assorted flock of 24 banties and standards for over a year now.

The standard roo has never hurt the banty hens as the banty roo simply does not allow this. I've seen him push the alpha roo off standard hens on occasion...!

I can't speak for other flocks, but mine co-inhabit beautifully.

I have 2 standard sized hens, and just one bantam hen. My rooster loves each lady every morning. He is most gentle with the banty hen.

My guess is that she shows him the most love and adoration!
