Bantams and Standard Together?

I have had three big Orps (one was a huge roo) along with two Silkie mixes, raised from babies. Never any problem at all. Once the pecking order was figured out, all was fine. My two bantams were mid-pack in the order so they held their own just fine. If you are new to this (as I am) I suggest raising them together from the get go, SO much easier! Good luck.

I have a stupid question.. Do standard size chickens breed with Bantams? I'm trying to conserve some space, because I'm separating breeds, and by the color of the breeds. That means 10 chicken coops! Would help a lot if I could keep a standard flock with a bantam flock. Please give good news ! Thanks, Pam (by "flock, I mean 3-4 Standard size, and 3-4 bantams)

I had a bantam rooster named Rockstar and a bantam hen. Bantam hen was like a little old grandma and she did get bullied a little but always knew how to get out of the way. Bantam rooster was the favorite rooster of the hens and he was called Rockstar because of his beauty. When a BO went broody and hatched out nine eggs, you could tell who the Daddy was. Most were on the small side. He was also the protector of the flock. He lost a battle with a dog and so did some of the hens.

Awww. Sorry about Rockstar and the hens. They are being raised together- I was just hoping not to get some Poilish/Seabright crosses, or Polish/Silkies! Thanks! Pam

Sorry, they will crossbreed.
