At the moment my flock is mixed, LF and bantys, but I have some 3.5 week old banty chicks coming up the ranks who are currently in a separate enclosure to my big coop and run.

I want to give everyone a bit more space so I'm planning on building a banty coop and separating my birds off into LF and bantys.

I currently have 2 adult bantys, 4 chicks and my banty cochin is sitting on 8 banty eggs so i could have 12 bantys soon.

I'm going to double that I'm my planning because, chickens 😁.

So what's a good amount of room in coop and in run for 24 bantys?
I know the answer is "as much as you can give them", but if I could get an actual numerical figure it would be really helpful as a starting point.

Hard numbers don't work for banty's just like they don't work for chickens. ;)

I would start with 2 square feet per bird in the coop. That's 48 square feet.
For the run, think of how much you'd do for that many big chickens, and then give the banties somewhere between that much and half that much.

I'm thinking I'll start with 8x6.

Thank you.
