Bare Back

1 out of 15 chickens has this bare back. Its not pecked at, has open wounds or scabs. I've watched the flock and don't see a lot of preening just a different bird occasionally so i don't think it's mites. I also don't think its from the rooster.BUT I could be wrong. Any thoughts and suggestions for dealing with this issue?

It is from the rooster, very typical evidence. She must be his favorite. She'll be missing feathers till after next molt. How old is the rooster?
