I've got two Golden-Laced Wyandottes with my dad's Rocks. My crazy GLW rooster, Red, is also in with them. He does mate them (of course) but he dosen't really carry on and mate like crazy.
But still, my GLW have bare backs. Some of the Rocks have a few feathers pecked out, but no skin showing. I've heard that putting petroleum jelly will stop chicks from pecking each other- does anyone think this would work for adults?? Is there anything I can do, short of quarintine (of roo or hens) that will help with the regrowth of their feathers?? They would grow back, but the other hens are pecking (and eating) the feathers...
Any advice would be much appreciated!
