Bare bottom!!

My hen has a bare bottom. No mites or anything I don’t think. I’ve been checking. She does get lots of poop back there but that’s her haveing long feathers. Otherwise she’s clean.

Looks like broken off feathers in addition to the missing feathers. My bet is that a flock mate is feather pecking/plucking her.

I think I know who it is but I have some blue kote should I apply that? It’s keep her from pecking

Idk it didn’t look swollen but she has always been big. I don’t think it felt like a water balloon. She isn’t showing any other symptoms

Glad to hear that! Then it might just well be pecking.

You can try the blue kite. If you know who the offender is, you might separate it from the flock a couple of days. This has worked for a lot of folks with bullies in their flocks.

I don’t think it’s bullying rather she has poop stuck to her feathers which makes the mother hen think she needs to clean her up ya know? Usally if she does bully a little bit because she’s the highest in the pecking order she just goes for their face or see a bald spot on there necks and sticks her beak in there.
