barefoot in the coop

Ewww...lol. I don't worry about the germs and "stuff" because as someone just mentioned, my dogs and cats track ALL kinds of things in I'm sure. But the thoughts of stepping barefoot in piles of chicken poop just does nothing for me...

I know the poop is in there...I just didnt feel it. I was quite surprised, my deep litter doesnt resemble poo at all. I mean its not like walking over a droppings board hahahahah. I doubt I will be making the shoeless excursion again, I dont know what made me have to run out there barefoot anyway, but I have a better understanding now of ppl who have mentioned going barefoot around the farm or in and out of the coop. I survived and didnt lose my lunch.

i think we may over use the pine shave'ins
and to help with the smell, my mom put a little bit of ceder...i freaked out, she said it would be ok...
is it?

We just use Pine shavings, I know Cedar shavings are always said to be a no-no, but I'm not positive with chickens,

As for the barefoot thing, sheesh, I guess I'd guiltily put my hand up. If it isn't snowing or frozen, I go barefoot almost anywhere in our yard. Chicken coop included. Yes, it is often dirty and full of germs but what isn't??

I dont even know where the same shoes that I wear for the coop. Thought of stepping in the coop or yard where they are pooing makes me want to
