I have been researching growing barley fodder for my flock to help with feed cost. In this research people say that you should pay no more than $20.00 for a 50 lbs sack. I've called all the feed stores around Baton Rouge LA and people acted like I was crazy for asking for barley seed down south. So I went online but shipping costs are crazy. After shipping you get about 50 pounds for $60+ dollars. I called brewing shops but it's not the same apparently. I ended up getting 10 lbs for $16.00. This 10 pounds will turn into 30 pounds of food. That doesn't sound like saving money. It seems like a wash. Anyways does anyone know where or who sells barley for cheap. Any info or online store would be great. Or even let me know if you think it's a waste of time. Any info is appreciated.

    Thx

I personally thought it was a waste of time. It was quick to mold too.
