Barnevelder Chicks

Hi Everyone,

Can you please show me pictures of your Barnevelder chicks, with their age? I just want to be sure that my chicks are developing accordingly.

Also, what age would you put you Barnevelder chicks outside?

Hi! I’m going to put mine outside at 7 weeks, it’s pretty warm right now, about 65-70 in the day and down to no lower than 50 at night, they will be covered and locked up at night and with a snuggle of about 5 chicks total and another 9 (10 week olds) in the same house. Not sure if they will all snuggle up together yet tho...

Here is a photo of mine at two weeks old walking with my Buff Orpington that is about 2 weeks older, 2 photos at about 6 months old and here she is 2 photos at 1 year old. I finally put my chickens outside at night when about 2 1/2 months old, lol!

Here’s mine at 3.5 weeks....that comb compared to yours...think she’s a he??! It’s still yellow, not as pink as it looks in this pic...

I am pretty sure that your little chick is a she. The roosters don’t really have that double lace pattern through their whole body.
