This fella is 3.5 weeks old. He's from JamesA's eggs. Zippy - pipped and zipped in less than 30 minutes! Me thinks he has Roo written all over him. I also have two pullets from the same batch. He's not really contest material - but he's turning into a beautiful bird never the less.

thanks.unfortunately i don't know.i bought him at a local show as an adult.

I would almost bet that he is from the Johan line or has some in him. The roosters from that line have a distinctive stance and tail set. Hopefully I will be getting 2 cockerels from the Johan line this summer. Sadly I lost my only Barnevelder roo a few days ago. He was free ranging and disapeared

It sucks to have lost him, but I have lots of babys from him this year to select from for next year's breeding stock. I also have one more batch of eggs ready to go into the bator.
