Barnevelder stopped laying - new layer

Hi! So I have a Barnevelder that just recently , within the past four weeks just started laying for the first time and is about 7 months old. We got her as a pullet at 5 months. She would lay an egg a day with a couple of days here and there taking a break. So since about five days ago she stopped laying. Hasn't laid an egg since. Is this normal? Her face is still bright red and she's eating and drinking well. What could be going on ? Thank you!!

My barnevelder are sporadic layers. They don't lay consistently nor many eggs during the season. I keep them because they are pretty, as well as gentle birds.

Thank you! I didn't know that about the breed. Seems weird to start and stop so suddenly. They are beautiful though!

It is actually more weird for chickens to keep laying. Their eggs production is all from generations of breeding. Certain breeds have been bred egg production, others meat, some for ornamental, and a bunch in between. Barnevelder are mostly bred for their feather coloration and dark brown eggs so production isn't usually the main trait selected for in a breeding program.
