I live in Northern MN, as in it is snowing outside right now on top of our flood waters... ANYWAYS its cold for like 7 months out of the year and I read in a few places that Barnevelders are not really cold-hardy. Is this true? I love them, they are so pretty! They were on the top of my wish list until I read that. If anyone else has them and lives in a cold area let me know if they do ok in the cold or need extra tlc in the winter!

Mine did fine where I live (East Texas). The high in summer is around 100 and the low in the winter is around 30. Now laying in cold weather is another story altogether...lol

Thats not really cold though, we're talking a week solid of -40 degrees sometimes here. I wouldnt expect them to lay all winter but at least to tolerate that much cold weather?
