The only difference would be the blue mutation(Bl, Bl/Bl being splash and Bl/bl+ being blue), so when crossing Bl/bl+ birds with bl+/bl+ you get 50% Bl/b+ and 50% bl+/bl+, so half will be Blue Laced and half will be gold laced.Hi I have a Blue laced barnvelder I was just wondering what colour chicks I would get when mating him with my gold laced barnvelder I'm not very good with genetics would I get a percentage of both parents
Blue laced barnevelders are blue laced red, right? The only difference would be the blue mutation(Bl, Bl/Bl being splash and Bl/bl+ being blue), so when crossing Bl/bl+ birds with bl+/bl+ you get 50% Bl/b+ and 50% bl+/bl+, so half will be Blue Laced and half will be gold laced.

Huh. I only say that because when I look up "blue laced barnevelder" all of the examples look blue laced red. From: https://www.barnevelders.net/blue-laced-barnevelder.html
"The Blue Laced Barnevelder is a sport of the standard type where the black in the lacing of the feathers is replaced with Blue. It is relatively rare and there is often considerable wastage in its production as blue birds do not breed true. I have also found it better to use a blue splash male to breed over gold hens rather than the other way around."
They do look Blue Laced..! And the Gold Laced look red enhanced too, I don't see the marked difference between "Blue Laced" and the "Gold Laced" as you see on the Blue Laced Wyandottes and the Gold Laced Wyandottes.Huh. I only say that because when I look up "blue laced barnevelder" all of the examples look blue laced red.
No, they are single laced not double laced.Yeah, that's weird. Why does the blue seem to erase half of the double lacing pattern?
