Barnyard mix, what will I get..

Black chicks with large pea combs or strange looking combs, some feathers on the feet. Probably big, fluffy, friendly birds. They will carry the lavender gene, but because it's recessive, you won't be able to see any effects from it.

Yup! I have the opposite cross. I kept one chick and she started to get the coolest white patterning but passed away unexpectedly before reaching maturity. I have 4 in my incubator now hoping to keep a few.

Well it looks like the lavender gene is more dominate. I have 4 gray chicks and 2 yellow ones so far.

Do you have any idea which eggs they came from? (Or who their mothers were?)
I'm guessing the gray ones probably came from your Brahma hen or your Rhode Island Red hen, or possibly the white hens. The yellow ones likely came from the white hens. (Of course, I could be very wrong--but if you don't know for sure they had the lavender mother, then I'm guessing they did not.)

I have more lavender than any other ones. Not sure but most of the eggs were smaller and those did come from my lavender hens they are young

How does your smaller hens handle the big braham roo? I just ordered 3 dark Brahams hens. Once I finish scaling up I'll have around 45 hens and 1 easter Eggers roo. I'd like to get 1 dark Brahams roo but I'm worried he would squash my little hens.

Not exactly the same, but I had a tiny Cochin bantam do just fine with a standard Araucona rooster. But he was polite and didn't mount her constantly

Cute chicks! I didn't realize from the previous posts that you have so many of them!

(When you mentioned the gray chicks and the yellow ones, I was wondering why you didn't have a bunch of black chicks, considering the hens you've got--but it turns out you do have lots of black chicks too.)

I collected eggs for only 4 days.. i have 13 layers. More lavender Orrington than anything. They do have black in them but also but mostly dark silvery looking fluff. The two yellow I think can from my white hens. I got similar chicks from them last year.. all together there are 18 and one more appears that it will hatch the others have no movement. 18 maybe 19 out of 22 fertile isn't bad..
