I just wanted you guys to help me confirm the sex of these birds. I unpatiently posted about 2 weeks ago and got some good educated guesses. Now let's see if with the extra two weeks we can really nail it down. I believe this one is a boy. Scraggly tail and biggest comb of the bunch.

Thanks again and in advance for any input. Let me know if you need better or different pictures of anyone.

Well that's wonderful! Just for my own education is it the small combs that give them away?
They can tell the gender by lots of things. One of the main things is comb and wattles. The size and color says a lot about the bird. Next is the feathers. Pullets/hens have rounded hackles and saddles. Cockerels/roosters have pointy hackles and saddles. Cockerels/roosters also sprout sickle feathers in their tail feathers which gives their tails that beautiful rooster appearance. A pullet/hen has more even tail feathers. Their tail in entirety is rounded. This only applies to regular feathering birds. A henny feathered bird is so much more difficult to sex because both genders feather out the same, like a hen. Other visual features that give clues to gender are the stance of the bird, size of feet, and overall feminine or masculine "look". You're certainly lucky! Beautiful pullets

Please check behind me for accuracy. I'd hate to share incorrect information.

Most rooster feathers don't come in until 3-5 months when they get their adult feathers. Before that you look mostly to comb color and development, as well as certain feather color patterns are sex specific. Otherwise it is great information. :)
