With your Lavender Bantam Ameraucanas? And are the BR's Bantam Barred Rocks?

Speaking of Bantam Ameraucanas, the ones I bought from you are doing GREAT!! I hatched out 13 Lavender, 3 Blue, and 2 Black. Haven't lost one yet!

I think I ended up with 4 Lavender males and 9 females, one of the Lav males is so sweet, he comes and jumps in my lap!

Question: one of the roosters has a crossed beak, will he pass that trait on to his offspring?

I have LF Lavender Ameraucanas. My mother is the one with the bantams. I have the LF lavender Ameraucana roosters in with my barred rocks, but my mother now has bantam barred rocks that are really nice. I guess she could start a new project.

I thought about this project because it would be so simple really but the mealins (sp?) will never be right so you will never be able to get it accepted if you tried barring like on a campine you would be able to get it accepted. I think after Black Gold the next next next accepted variety will probably be dun which I would LOVE to work on

Ah, I see. Well pass my good wishes onto your mother and tell her I LOVE THEM!

I'll try'n send her some pictures of them. I was thinking about that myself, I have 1 Barred Rock bantam hen, Bonnie, and of course 4 Lav AM boys. That would be an interesting mix, to be sure.

Yes I had one a couple of years ago.I did not keep it but it is possible to produce some. The black from the barred bird will give most likely give you creole looking birds the first time.A quicker route would be to use a buff roo over commerical white leghorn hens. The leghorns carry the barring gene and silver.Since they are easter eggers it should not matter. They would be good layers.Very interesting project.

I know this is the wrong spot for this but thought you would find it interesting.I call it buff laced white.I have not seen it in any breed. It resulted from adding dominate white to buff.
