Last night just before going to bed I had left a flood light on. I looked out side and setting on the water tub was a fantastic looking owl. I later found out it was a barred owl. I have 12 week old BO. 16 week old I don't know what. Ducks and 1 adopted BBW turkey. I feel I need to be concerned for the little ones but what about older and bigger birds. I've seen him/her twice now.

If your birds have secure nighttime housing then it shouldn't be a problem. I have owls around, and when they are hunting in the neighborhood I lock my birds up a little earlier than usual. My waterfowl don't have a covered run, so they are the ones I worry about. I put them in about an hour before dusk. I have had losses to raptors previously, so I don't take any chances with the neighborhood owls.

Good luck.

A barred owl is fine to have around. If it's a great horned owl, that's another story. Cover your pen and close your coop each night. Horned owls are not beyond entering buildings to kill their prey.
