Barred Plymouth Rock not laying and only complaining

It's past 6 months now and my comet has been laying for the last 1-2 weeks. My BPR, who is much larger, has yet to lay an egg. :/

She's (the BPR) also been loudly complaining and just making a bunch of noise that's really distracting for my neighbors. And her complaining is incessant (I can hear her right now). They both have adequate access to food and water and have the entire backyard and garden to themselves.

She's still bawking like crazy, almost like she's continuously crowing. She's got food and water, what could it be? (she's just going BAWK BAWK BAWK BAWK....etc)

Well, first question that comes to my mind from your post is....are you POSITIVE it's a hen and not a roo? Can you post a pic?? Or it could just be that she's beginning to come into her own and getting ready to lay...and from your description of her carrying on she'll most likely sing the "egg song" like crazy!!!

Have you tried to place your hand on her back and see if she does the "submissive squat" .. that's a tell-tale sign they're getting close to laying.

She's definitely a hen, I can assure you that. My pictures are all too bid of a file to post on here and I don't know how to fix it. When I put my hand on her back, she doesn't squat but she just stays there.She's queit now, probably got tired of all that.
