Barred Plymouth Rock - slow to feather or a rooster?

My “Ladies” are 3 weeks old tomorrow. I have read that barred rocks are slower to develop feathers, but I’m not so sure this one isn’t turning out to be a rooster. What do you think?

It’s comb is pretty large- it might be a cockerel (not 100% sure) Do you have any other barred rock chicks or is that your only one?

I had another that was similar in development but it ended up getting trampled by another and died a week ago. I agree that the comb here is larger than any of my other birds.

Was the other one similar colored? My barred rock pullets are 1.5 weeks old and from what I’ve seen roos will have more white. Mine are pretty dark still.

The other one was similar colored. Dark but with a large white blotchy spot on the top of the head. Thanks for the help!

When will I know with certainty? Any sooner than if it either crows or lays an egg? Can’t have a rooster where I live.

It should become more obvious in the next few weeks. For what it's worth, it looks like a cockerel to me as well.
