Hi! I need some opinions on this barred rock I've got! It's 9 weeks old now so I'm hoping that's old enough to get a for sure on it's sex. It was supposed to be a pullet but as it grew it looked more like the roo-which is the same age-so I posted here and asked what everyone else thought. The vote was that it probably was another roo. Well, now I'm back to wondering if maybe it's a pullet after all! The one that's for certain a roo looks like what I'd expect, lighter looking, red comb and wattles, longer, curving tail, and it's tried fluffing it's neck feathers at some of the other chickens. This other one tho seems a bit darker, like the barring isn't as thick, it's comb still has a bit of yellow along the top, and it's tail looks just like the tails on my pullets-different breeds, same age- I would have thought it'd be easy to figure this out at this age but ....:idunno
Here's some pics, the first one is the back end of the for sure roo so you can see what I meant about the tail. All the pics after that are the one that's confusing me! Thanks in advance for your help:)!

The pictures are really light but I believe you have a pullet. Also hens also fluff their neck feathers and peck and fight to determine pecking order.

Thank you all for your help!
Basskids08- I'm glad you mentioned that about females fluffing up and pecking also. I saw two of my EE pullets stand tall and ruffle their neck feathers to each other a few weeks ago and was surprised since I was under the impression that was a male trait. Always glad to learn something new! :)
