I live in a the Colorado Springs area. In early August this year, my broody Buff Orpington hen hatched several eggs, and out of those is a Barred Rock Rooster who hatched on August 7 2017. My intention is to keep some of the chicks for my flock, and sell the rest. The Barred Rock has been crowing for a month now, mostly at night around 5am. This is a no crow area and I also have two other breeds. All my chickens are together, and the three roosters (pictured here), all hatched the same day, and get along. I have one Barred Rock hen, also hatched the same day, but no other Barred Rock. He has been trying to mount the Buff Orpington hen who raised them. Still my Buff Orpington hens boss the Barred Rock rooster around. I intend to keep the Buff Orpington rooster to breed with my BO hens.

I have put the no crow rooster collar on all three boys, but the Barred Rock is still getting it loose and has taken it off once. He continues to wake up the neighborhood. He needs a place where he can crow all he wants.

I would like to concentrate on just one breed, and am looking for a good home for the rooster, and the hen is also available; preferably someone who would like to raise this breed of chicken. As you can see he is a beautiful bird. The hen has not started laying eggs, but if like my BO hens, then I expect she should start soon.
